L’Oreal Pure Clay Review

I’m sure everyone has seen these face masks by now, they have created a bit of a buzz, and I can absolutely see why. There are three masks in the ‘Pure Clay’ range which all contain a blend of three clays, along with a unique ingredient. The range includes a Detox Mask which claims to detoxify and clarify your skin, a Purity Mask which claims to purify and mattify your skin and a Glow Mask which claims to brighten and exfoliate your skin.

I personally only picked up the Detox and Glow Mask. As the Purity Mask is made to mattify your face, and as someone with dry skin, it didn’t sound like it was for me. I have been using the two that I picked up for quite a while now, so I can give all of my honest thoughts, and I will admit that I have used the Detox Mask a whole lot more. Does this mean it’s my favourite out of the two? hmm…

This mask is a game changer for me. Honestly, the first time I used it I felt like i’d just been given a face lift (obviously I’m not actually aware of what that feels like haha). Whilst it is drying it makes your face very tight, very fast. So just be aware of that! The actual results of the mask are amazing, I noticed the most difference in the pores around my nose, it completely cleared them, and made my whole face feel so smooth. I won’t lie to you I was dubious of this product, I don’t tend to reach for drugstore skincare as my skin is extremely sensitive, and I assumed I would wake up the next day after using this with a face full of break outs. I was wrong, hurray! It did’t upset my skin at all, and my skin only seems to get better after every use.

My thoughts of the Glow Mask differ a little from the Detox Mask. The mask does make my skin feel soft, but I much prefer the results of the Detox Mask. I also didn’t notice much difference in my skin being any more “glowy”. The consistency of the mask is like those of a scrub, which means when applying it my natural instincts kicked in and I wanted to start scrubbing away. This does mean that when rinsing away the mask, you can move the product around in circular motions to get the most out of the exfoliation. For me this is the only bonus. I’m not necessarily saying that this is a bad face mask, but I definitely favour the Detox Mask more in that the Detox Mask does what it claims to do, and more! The Glow Mask for me just didn’t give me the wow factor and I doubt I will be repurchasing.

They retail at £7.99, however you can currently get them from Boots for £5. The glass jars are a nice touch, and give a luxury feel. And the smell of the masks is pretty pleasant. One thing I will mention is that they can get quite messy when washing them off, black sink alert!

Have you tried any of the masks from the range? Do we have similar thoughts?

Jewellery haul

I love the little details in an outfit, I feel like accessories make an outfit complete. Especially jewellery, I love jewellery. I recently picked up a few bits myself which I am totally adoring. So obviously a mini haul post was due!

jewellery haul two

I picked up this cute, silver dream catcher necklace from Primark. It is the cutest and was only £1.50! I love Primark jewellery for the prices, it means I can feel less guilty if I only wear a piece a couple of times, although I’m sure this won’t be leaving my neck! I was pretty disappointed in the selection at Primark this time, as this was the only thing that caught my eye.

From New Look I bought a few things, including this pink gem stone ring (top right in the photo below) which has two gold bands which meet at the back. It is pretty chunky, so will be good to pair with other smaller rings. This was £2.99.

Also from New Look I picked up some earrings. The first (far left) are shell heart studs, they are massive for my tiny earlobes, but the inner girly side of me told me to get them, and at £2.99 I thought why not! The circle bar studs (far right) were also from New Look, I thought these were pretty and unique, so again for £2.99 I popped them in my basket.

From H & M I got these cute little button earrings (middle). Four pairs for £3.99. The pale pink pair are adorbs!

And last but not least, my favourite purchase! I am loving this watch from New Look. It is giving me all of the Olivia Burton vibes, and is a total dupe! I already own two Olivia Burton watches which I wear to death, and I have been lusting over one with a floral face, however I just can’t justify spending £80+ on a watch at the moment. So for now this gorgeous £12.99 one will have to do!

This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray

I don’t necessarily have issues with falling asleep, it’s more the state in which I am falling asleep in. I think i’ve mentioned before that I have a hectic life trying to balance everything, which means by the time I get into bed my mind is buzzing, and I often feel stressed. Especially when I start to think about allll of the things I need to do the next day!

I stumbled across This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray somewhere on the internet, and decided to give it a try. At £16 I was pretty dubious, but purchased it anyway.

Does it do what I want it to do? Yes. I few spritz of this over my pillow, and i’m completely calm. It is infused with lavender, vetivert and camomile which all work together to soothe the body and mind. Magic in a bottle.

As you can see in the photo above it has some big claims, which I wouldn’t totally agree with. Yes, my sleep is better, but I haven’t noticed a difference in falling asleep faster. I do feel more refreshed in the morning, but that is obviously linked back to having a better nights sleep! And would I recommend? Absolutely! Something about this product is different to other typical lavender sprays, and although it is pricey I reckon it is going to last me a while.

Remember guys and gals sleep is very important. It basically means you can function as a human being! And it definitely makes you more happy and healthy, so squeeze in those extra winks.

Speaking of sleep…

NYX haul

Oops I tripped and fell head first into the NYX counter. Sorry bank account.

I have been using NYX products for quite a while now, even before they were available in the UK I was ordering them from the States. They’re a great brand, both affordable and brilliant quality. So it couldn’t harm trying out a few more of their products, could it?

This is everything I purchased and I’m pretty impressed that all of this only came to £67.50. I actually get Boots employee discount (which is where you can buy NYX over here in the UK) so you should all appreciate that I have to work out or look up all of the prices without that discount. Hard life, eh.

Lets split this up into face, eyes and lips shall we…

For the face I picked up a High Definition Blush in the shade Pink the Town. I don’t own any coral blushes, so i’m hoping I will like this one, and won’t end up looking like a satsuma. I also picked up the Illuminating Bronzer in Narcissistic, it looks very orange in the photo above (I will end up looking like a satsuma at this rate) but when swatched it gives a gorgeous golden shimmer.
